A new (mid-twentieth century) English translation of the New Testament letters from the Greek text with a forward by C.S. Lewis. Rev. J.B. Phillips had nothing against the "Authorized Version", known today as the King James translation, but believed that because the epistles of the New Testament were originally written in "common Greek", that they should be translated into the "English of today.
