Abstract
KIRKUS REVIEW
The First Christian is a treatise on Paulinism suited primarily for professional theologians. So many of the traditional teachings are questioned by the author's generous use of modern critical scholarship that the book would confuse the general layman. The subject is well presented and would provide admirable material for serious discussion groups. Its appeal is likely to be limited to liberal-minded readers, who are willing to make the effort to understand the implications of Biblical scholarship for the Christian faith. There is an admirable bibliography for any who wish to pursue this matter of Christian origin and growth further. The author is the late well-known minister of All Boule Unitarian Church, Washington, D. C.
